Meetings

One of the core principles of the Western Massachusetts Fly Fishermen (WMFF) is staying informed with the various aspects of fly fishing, fly tying, current events related to the sport, and environment issues that allow WMFF members to participate in fishing. This also includes the importance of socializing among fishing and tying peers, whether sharing stories of the last fishing adventure, new tying techniques, sharing of new or favorite fishing spots, or dissemination knowledge and skills to the next fishing generation. The WMFF meetings are held monthly on the third Monday from September through May. The meetings start at 7:00 PM, usually with a fly tying demonstrations from WMFF’s own Dan Trela, a staple among the fly fishing community of the Pioneer Valley and beyond. A guest speaker may follow next or round table discussion. There is WMFF business discussion and a meeting-ending raffle for fly tying material. Throughout the meeting there is socializing among the new and long term members.
